1-0 Sports is a website that was created in January 2019 with the idea of being a way for University of Texas students to be able to have a home for their blogs and podcasts. It was created and is run by Thomas Fitch, who is the host of the Thomas Fitch Show and runs the social media accounts.
There is no official staff list, as it is open to all UT students with an interest in sports writing/broadcasting, but the goal is to make it a premier site for sports and entertainment. We'd like to take a little bit from all the sports media giants; the humor and fun of Barstool Sports, the professionalism of ESPN, and the trendiness of Bleacher Report. Because of this, some of our content may feel like knock-offs of theirs, but our goal is simply to get more chances to practice journalism in preparation for possibly working for one of these companies in the future.
